The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents more than 31,000 members in 235 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs. The association fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession. For 25 years the South Dakota AFP chapter has been the standard-bearer for professionalism in fundraising. Our members have access to a rich network of people with varied experience and perspectives.

South Dakota AFP earned the 2013 Ten Star Award.  The Chapter Ten Star award honors those chapters who have accomplished many of the key objectives outlined in the Strategic Plan.  This Award encourages chapters to perform specific activities designed to increase professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy.  Congratulations to the Chapter!

Sanford is seeking an Enterprise Director of Donor Relations to join our growing team. This position is responsible for donor relations and stewardship for the Foundation enterprise wide including donor recognition, stewardship practices, event planning, research and prosposal materials. They drive the standardization ofour donor relations practices. They supervise the support services staff for the foundation. They work closely with the director of data services on data entry into Raiser’s Edge to accommodate stewarding and donor reporting, and with the director of communications to ensure timely and personalized communication to donors. Jan 30 - Major Gift Officer
A major gift officer (MGO) at USF will participate as a team member of the University of Sioux Falls Institutional Advancement Office, reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement & the USF Foundation. It is expected that each MGO will manage a portfolio of between 125 and 150 qualified major and planned gift prospects by building relationships from prospect identification through meaningful and timely cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
